BI NAKAPAGTALA NG 45K ARRIVALS, 33K DEPARTURES NOONG EASTER SUNDAY

Mahigit sa 45,000 arrivals ang naitala ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) noong Linggo ng Pagkabuhay.

Ayon pa kay BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco, na mahigit sa 33,000 departures ang naitala rin, kung saan idinagdag nito na inaasahan pa ang pagdagsa ng mga pasahero pagkatapos ng holidays.

Sa dami ng bilang na ito, pinuri ni Tansingco ang mga opisyal na kinumpleto ang kanilang duty noong kasagsagan ng holiday season.

“Our officers sacrifice precious time with their loved ones to serve the traveling public. Despite the challenges, we are thankful to those who continue their work efficiently and professionally,” saad niya.

Umabot sa 155 immigration officer ang ipinakalat, kasama ang batch ng 36 immigration officer na ideneploy matapos makumpleto ang kanilang training.

“The high number of arriving and departing passengers show that the travel sector is already recovering.  We see this as a good sign, and we believe the numbers will continue to rise until the end of the year,”  saad niya. ARSENIO TAN
