Itinalaga ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla si Rogelio Gevero Jr. bilang Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Commissioner ng Bureau of Immigration.
“As such, Mr. Gevero is hereby authorized to discharge the powers and mandates of said position, in addition to his existing duties and responsibilities,” saad sa inilabas na Department Order no. 299-A ng kalihim.
Epektibo ang pagiging OIC ng ahensya ni Gevero hanggang Hulyo 31, 2022 o hanggang sa makapag-appoint ng magsisilbing BI Commissioner sa administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.
Ayon kay Atty. Mico Clavano, hangad ng DOJ ang tagumpay ni Gevero.
“The Department of Justice wishes him the best of luck and will be behind him in his newly designated position as OIC,” pahayag ni Clavano.
Bago maging BI OIC Commissioner, nagsilbi si Gevero bilang pinuno ng Immigration Regulation Division. Papalitan ni Gevero si BI Commissioner Jaime Morente
