PORMAL nang naglabas ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ng show cause orders laban sa sampung opisyal ng ahensya mula sa iba’t ibang rehiyon kaugnay ng umano’y magarbong pamumuhay at pagkakasangkot sa mga substandard na proyekto.
Sa isang press conference, sinabi ni Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon na kabilang sa mga pinadalhan ng show cause order ay sina:
- Gerard Opulencia, NCR Regional Director – lavish lifestyle
- Danilo Villa, Region 7 (Central Visayas) Regional Director – lavish lifestyle
- Gerald Pacanan, dating RD ng Mimaropa (Region 4-B) – substandard projects
- Khadaffy Tangelo, Cordillera Regional Director – failure to cooperate
- Atty. Brando Raya, Chief ng Right of Way Acquisition and Legal Division, Region 7 – lavish lifestyle
- Isabelo Baleros, dating District Engineer – substandard projects
- Almer Miranda, District Engineer, Pampanga 1st DEO – substandard projects
- Gil B. Lorenzo, District Engineer, La Union DEO – substandard projects
- Arturo L. Gonzales Jr., District Engineer, QC 1st DEO – substandard projects
- Johnny L. Protesta Jr., District Engineer, QC 2nd DEO – substandard projects
Binigyan ng limang araw ang mga opisyal para magsumite ng kanilang nakasulat na paliwanag. Ayon kay Dizon, maaari silang masampahan ng kaukulang kasong administratibo depende sa resulta ng imbestigasyon, alinsunod sa Civil Service law.
“If they think that I’m not going to take this seriously, I hope this is proof that we are serious, that the President is serious about this, and we will not spare nobody — top to bottom,” mariing pahayag ng DPWH chief.
Kasabay nito, muling inatasan ni Dizon ang lahat ng empleyado ng DPWH na makipagtulungan sa Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) at isumite ang lahat ng hinihinging dokumento kaugnay ng mga kuwestiyonableng flood control projects.
Babala pa ni Dizon: ang sinumang hindi makikipagtulungan ay posibleng maharap sa parehong kasong administratibo o kriminal. (MINA PADERNA)
