HINDI kasama sa holiday sa 2024 ang Edsa People Power Anniversary, na karaniwang ipinagdiriwang sa bansa tuwing Pebrero 25.
Nakasaad sa Proclamation 368 na may petsang October 11 at pinirmahan ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, ang mga petsa ng regular holiday na idineklara ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.:
January 1 – New Year’s Day
March 28 – Maundy Thursday
March 29 – Good Friday
April 9 – Araw ng Kagitingan
May 1 – Labor Day
June 12 – Independence Day
August 26 – National Heroes Day (Last Monday of August)
November 30 – Bonifacio Day
December 25 – Christmas Day
December 30 – Rizal Day
Samantalang special non-working days naman ang:
February 10 – Chinese New Year
March 30 – Black Saturday
August 21 – Ninoy Aquino Day
November 1 – All Saints’ Day
November 2 – All Souls’ Day
December 8 – Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary
December 24 – Christmas Eve
December 31 – Last day of the year
Sa usapin nang hindi pagkakasama ng People Power anniversary sa listahan ng mga idineklarang holiday, ipinaliwanag ng Malacañang na papatak ito sa araw ng Linggo, February 25, 2024.
“There is a minimal socio-economic impact in declaring such day as a special non-working holiday since it coincides with the rest day for most workers/laborers,” ayon sa pahayag ng Palasyo.
Nilinaw din na ang Office of the President, “maintains the respect for the commemoration of the EDSA People Power Revolution.”
Ang EDSA People Power Revolution anniversary ay paggunita sa nangyaring mapayapang pag-aaklas noong 1986.
Samantala, hindi pa kasama sa listahan ang Islamic holidays gaya ng Eid’l Fitr at Eid’l Adha, dahil ibinabase ito sa Islamic calendar (Hijra) o lunar calendar, o maging sa Islamic astronomical calculations.
Inaatasan sa proklamasyon ang National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, na irekomenda sa Office of the President kung kailan itatakda ang Eid’l Fitr at Eid’l Adha holidays.
