CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal – In a remarkable display of collaborative efforts and humanitarian dedication, the Philippine Band of Mercy partnered with the Philippine Army’s 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division in conducting the Cleft Palate Surgery Outreach Mission here from Friday to Saturday, August 4 to 5.
A total of 24 patients with ages ranging from 4 months to 17 years old from Tanay, Rizal and Quezon City benefited from the said endeavor. The two-day event saw a team of skilled medical professionals, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and support staff from both the PBM and 2ID’s Army Station Hospital working tirelessly to provide life-changing surgical interventions for children afflicted with cleft palates.
The Cleft Palate Surgery Outreach Mission aimed not only to address the physical challenges faced by these children but also to enhance their overall well-being and quality of life.
The 2ID Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong expressed that the successful collaboration between the Philippine Band of Mercy and the Army Station Hospital exemplifies the power of partnership in creating a positive impact within local communities. He added 2ID remains committed to partnering with key stakeholders in providing support to initiatives that prioritize the well-being of communities across the CABALARZON and MIMARO provinces.
