Bigo man sa laban kay Cuban boxer Yordenis Ugas, bumuhos pa rin ang papuri kay People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao.
“The boxing icon’s loss in Las Vegas would not diminish the honors he bestowed to our country and the joy he gave to our people,” ayon sa statement ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
“Senator Pacquiao will forever be etched in the hearts of Filipinos as our People’s Champ.” dagdag pa ng opisyal ng Malacañang.
Sabi naman ni Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, si Pacquiao pa rin ang tinuturing niyang kampeon. “He made the Filipino proud.”
Komento naman ni Sen. Panfilo Lacson, wala nang makakapantay sa record ni Pacquiao sa susunod na 100 taon.
“That, plus his big heart for the poor and the downtrodden. On both counts, he is the Champion we Filipinos will always love and admire.” ani Lacson.
Binanggit naman ni Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri na kahit hindi naiuwi ni Pacquiao ang korona, pinatunayan lamang niya na siya ang “legendary fighter – the best athlete we have ever had, and the world has ever seen.”
“Senator Manny Pacquiao has nothing left to prove in the boxing ring. He will forever remain the People’s Champ, our Pambansang Kamao.” ayon naman kay House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco.
