TULUYAN nang binawian ng buhay ang head ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI Counter-Terrorism Division) matapos magtamo ng tama ng bala sa loob ng kanyang opisina sa Maynila.
Kinilala ng Manila Police District Homicide Department ang biktima na si Raoul Manguerra, 49.
Ayon sa pulisya, nagtamo ng tama ng bala sa tiyan si Manguerra habang nasa loob ng NBI-CTD office sa kahabaan ng Taft Avenue, Ermita dakong alas-11:39 kagabi.
Agad isinugod si Manguerra sa ospital matapos marinig ng kanyang driver na si Bert at ng isang casual employee na kinilala lamang sa pangalang “Dads,” ang alingawngaw ng putok ng baril sa loob ng opisina ng biktima.
Ayon kay MPD Homicide chief Police Captain Henry Navarro hindi nila maipaliwanag kung papaano nabaril ang biktima dahil nagsasagawa ang NBI ng kanilang sariling internal investigation.
“Nung nagpunta kami sa NBI hindi kami pinapasok kasi they are doing their internal investigation. They are allowed naman,” saad niya.
“Whatever reason, kung ano nangyari kung suicide ba ‘yan, nag-accidental firing o binaril ba ‘yan, wala pa kaming alam,” dagdag pa niya.
Paliwanag pa ni Navarro na ipinaubaya na lamang ng mga miyembro ng pamilya ng biktima na ipaubaya na sa NBI ang imbestigasyon.
Samantala, nagluluksa naman ngayon ang NBI at pamilya ni Manguerra sa pagpanaw sa sinapit ng biktima.
“The NBI is in a deep state of mourning. We condole with the family, relatives and friends of Chief Manguerra,” ayon kay NBI spokesman Ferdinand Lavin sa isang pahayag.
“The Director has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident, including a lockdown on the NBI premises immediately after the incident,” dagdag pa nito.
Sinabi ni Lavin na wala pa silang maibigay na final report sa nangyaring insidente.
