OPISYAL nang nai-turnover ang 50 shelter units ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sa mga indibidwal at kanilang pamilya na nakatira sa conflict-vulnerable at affected areas sa lalawigan ng Zamboanga Sibugay.
Sa pamamagitan ng Modified Shelter Assistance Project (MSAP) sa ilalim ng PAyapa at MAsaganang PamayaNAn (PAMANA) Program, nabigyang ang 50 benepisyaryo mula Barangay Sto. Niño sa munisipalidad ng Tungawan ng permanenteng housing units.
Ayon kay DSWD Undersecretary for Inclusive-Sustainable Peace and Special Concerns Cluster Alan Tanjusay, ang pagtapos ng MSAP units ay resulta ng collaborative efforts ng concerned government agencies, local government units (LGUs) at mga benepisyaryo, at sa pamamagitan ng simultaneous implementation ng cash-for-work program ng DSWD.
“The beneficiaries of the shelter were engaged by the DSWD to construct the shelters and were paid the minimum daily wage of the region, while other complimentary goods and services were given by the LGUs,” saad ni Undersecretary Tanjusay.
Bilang bahagi ng patuloy nilang pagsisikap para sa peace agenda ng pamahalaan, nilagdaan ng DSWD kasama ang Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU), Zamboanga Sibugay Province, LGU ng Tungawan at Barangay Sto. Niño ang memorandum of agreement (MOA) para sa pagpapatayo ng karagdagang shelter units ngayong taon.
Sa ilalim ng MOA, may 150 pang tirahan ang nakatakdang ipatayo na naglalayong mabigyan ng tulong ang mga pamilya na nasa conflict-affected at vulnerable areas.
Isang Serbisyo Caravan ang inorganisa ng lokal na pamahalaan, katuwang ang Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) at Department of Health (DOH) at iba pang mga ahensiya, para magbigyan ng iba pang serbisyo at tulong ang mga dadalong benepisyaryo.
Nakatakdang isagawa ang naturang caravan ng isang beses sa isang buwan sa nasabing lugar upang tiyakin na mananatiling accessible ang basic services sa kanilang mga komunidad.
Dinaluhan ang ceremonial turnover ceremony at MOA sigining nina DSWD Undersecretary Alan Tanjusay; Assistant Secretary Arnel Garcia, CESO II; DSWD Field Office IX Regional Director Riduan Hadjimuddin; DSWD Disaster Response Management Bureau Division Chief Imee Castillo.
Naroroon din sa event sina Zamboanga Sibugay Governor Ann Hofer; Tungawan Mayor Carlnan Climaco; Sto. Nino Barangay Captain Luis Apolinario; OPAPRU Western Mindanao Unit Peter Cheng; and mga kinatawan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), at ang Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office ng Tungawan.
“The DSWD commits to work with other concerned agencies and local government units to ensure that the PAMANA Program, as the government’s priority program for peace negotiation, will continue to contribute to the goal of attaining a just and lasting peace,” ayon kay Undersecretary Tanjusay.
