NAVOTAS NAKIISA SA INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEANUP DAY

KASABAY ng pagdiriwang ng International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day 2022, nakiisa ang Navotas sa simultaneous clean-up drives sa Barangays Bagumbayan North, Tangos North, Tangos South, at Tanza Marine Tree Park.

Mahigit 150 individuals ang sumama sa event, kabilang ang mga empleyado ng pamahalaang lungsod, national government agencies, barangay officials and staff, students, teachers, at mga emplayado mula sa private institutions.

Hinikayat ni Mayor John Rey Tiangco ang mga kalahok na ugaliin ang paglilinis sa baybayin.

“Navotas is surrounded by bodies of water and many Navoteños live on fishing and other fishing-related activities. It is then our duty to keep our coastal areas clean to maintain the ecosystem in these waters and sustain a healthy aquatic environment,” aniya.

“Keeping our environment clean should not only be done as part of events such as the International Coastal Cleanup Day, but should be part of our lifestyle,” dagdag niya.

Kabilang sa mga basura na nakolekta ng mga kalahok ay ang mga plastic caps, bottles, sachets, styrofoam materials, driftwood, at iba’t ibang metal items.

Ang mga Volunteers ay kailangan magsumite ng kopya ng volunteer ocean trash data form sa record debris at trash items na kanilang natipon sa panahon ng event.
