Inanunsiyo ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) na kanilang ide-deploy ang 147 bagong hired na Immigration Officers (IOs) sa on-site training sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) simula sa Abril 24.
Ayon kay BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco, ang mga bagong officer ay makadaragdag sa manpower ng ahensiya sa premiere port bilang paghahanda sa travel season ngayong summer.
“This action will help improve our service to the travelling public during this time, as well as ensure that immigration protocols are carried out properly against trafficking threats,” saad ni Tansingco.
Pagkatapos ng kanilang training, ang mga nasabing officer ay ikakalat sa iba’t ibang airport at tanggapan ng BI sa buong bansa.
“This is part of our continuing goal of improving our manpower by maximizing our plantilla,” ayon kay Tansingco.
Bukod sa initial training, nakatakdang isailalim ang immigration officers para ituloy ang pagsasanay upang paghusayin ang hard skills at soft skills.
“We want a more holistic approach in our trainings for our officers,” ani Tansingco. “Apart from theoretical trainings, we want to increase our trainings in other skills, like communication and conflict resolution, which are very important in the conduct of their duties,” dagdag pa nito.
