EXPANDED PASSENGER TERMINAL BUILDING SA BUTUAN AIRPORT OPISYAL NANG PINASINAYAAN – CAAP

INANUNSIYO ni Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Director General Captain Manuel Antonio Tamayo na opisyal nang binuksan ng Butuan Airport ang bago nitong expanded passenger terminal building, kasunod ng pagkumpleto ng P24.5 milyong development project noong 18 Disyembre 2022.

Ang nasabing pinalawak na paliparan ay sumailalim sa extensive renovation na kabilang expansion, rehabilitation, improvement, at beautification ng kasalukuyang terminal building.


Dahil sa pagpapalawak, kaya na ngayon mag-accommodate ng 616 pasahero, kumpara sa 248 passenger capacity nitong nakaraan. Ang available space ng terminal ay lumaki mula sa 1,440 sqm hanggang 2,016 sqn, na magbibigay ng mas komportable at efficient travel experience para sa mga pasahero.

Sa kanyang pagtatalumpati sa inauguration event, optimismo si Tamayo kaugnay sa impact ng proyekto sa komunidad at socio-economic growth ng Butuan at Agusan del Norte, gayundin sa Mindanao.

“As Butuan continues to progress, the DOTr, CAAP, together with the LGU, worked with tremendous efforts to deliver this development with the aim of welcoming even more travelers and tourists to the city and in the surrounding Agusan del Norte Province. This is in line with the goal to provide locals and tourists with safer journeys to the different parts of the country. This is aligned with our objective of creating and providing safe, efficient, secured, and comfortable transport services to the Filipino people,” saad ni Tamayo.

“The Butuan Airport’s expansion project is a testament to the government’s commitment to improving the aviation infrastructure in the country, promoting economic growth, and enhancing the travel experience of passengers,” dagdag niya.

Kabilang sa saklaw ng proyekto ay ang civil structural works, architectural works, plumbing works, mechanical works, ceiling works, tile works, painting works, electrical works, landscaping at steel works. Kaya na ng paliparan ang 12 flights kada araw mula Cebu Pacific at Philippine Airlines.

Dinaluhan ang event ang inagurasyon nina  CAAP Director General Tamayo, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports Roberto Cecilio Lim, CAAP Deputy Director General for Administration Atty. Danjun G. Lucas, CAAP Chief Financial Officer Marianne Raymundo, CAAP Area Center 12 Manager Evangeline Daba,  at iba pang local agency officials. (JERRY S TAN)
