2 taekwondo golds inangkla ni Ninobla sa PSC Women’s Martial Arts Fest

Si World No. 2 Jocel Lyn Ninobla na sumungkit ng 2 gold medals sa taekwondo ng 8th Philippine Sports Commission-Women’s Martial Arts Festival na idinaos sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum sa Maynila.

IPINAMALAS ni Jocelyn Ninobla ang kanyang lakas sa balwarte upang masungkit ang dalawang gintong medalya sa taekwondo sa pagtiklop ng  8th Philippine Sports Commission-Women’s Martial Arts Festival sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Kasalukuyang world no. 2 sa  rankings, umiskor si Ninobla 8.37 points upang mahablot ang   gold medal  individual poomsae bago pangunahan ang  national squad para sa kanyang ikalawang  tagumpay sa  women’s freestyle team event.

Ang  26 anyos na si Ninobla,  back-to-back Southeast Asian Games champion, kasama sina Jona Keith Castillo at Janna Dominique Oliva sa  team poomsae gold sa kanilang pinagsamang  score na 7.16 points.

Si PSC Commissioner Olivia “Bong’’ Coo ang nanguna sa closing ceremony  matapos ang anim na araw na aksiyon na tinatampukan ng 11 combat sports na inorganisa ng  PSC at suportado ng  Pocari Sweat at Go21  kung saan ang mga pinaksmahuhusay na atleta mula sa pambansang koponan ay lumahok.

“It was very successful. We had 628 athletes who participated, and we were able to show that a lot of women are into martial arts. This was also an opportunity to encourage more women to participate in these sports and learn to defend themselves,’’ wika ni  Coo.

Ang Women’s Martial Arts Festival ay magsisilbi ring inisyal na  tuneup para sa  national teams mula pencak silat, karatedo, sambo, kickboxing, taekwondo, wrestling, muaythai, jiujitsu at kurash para naman sa kanilang  buildup  sa 6th Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games sa Bangkok, Thailand saktong isang taon mula ngayon.
