PUMANAW na ang batikang aktres na si Mila del Sol na isa sa itinuturing na icon ng Golden Age of Philippine cinema sa edad na 97.,
Ito ang inanunsiyo ng kanyang apo na si Parañaque Rep. Gus Tambunting ngayong Martes.
“It is with a heavy heart that I share that my beloved grandmother, Ms. Mila del Sol, our Lulay, ang Reyna ng Pinilakang-Tabing, passed away this morning at 1:10am,” ayon sa mambabatas.
. “She passed away in the home of her eldest son and my father, Sonny Tambunting.”
Nakagawa si Del Sol ng mahigit 40 Filipino films sa pre-war at post war-era, kabilang ang Ibong Adarna (1949) at Villa Hermosa (1941).
“Being the link of the pre-war and the post-war era, Lola’s contributions to laying down the foundations of Philippine cinema has allowed her to be recognized as a true cornerstone of the industry,” dadag ni Tambunting.
“Before her passing, she was the only living movie star from the Golden Age of Philippine Cinema in the 1930s and 1940s.”
Inilarawan ni Tambunting si Del Sol bilang “loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.”
Naulila ng aktres ang kanyang mga anak na sina Sonny, aktres na si Jeanne Young, Ancel Romero, at Leo Romero.
