ISRAELI NATIONAL ARESTADO SA PEKENG PASSPORT

Naharang ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang isang Israeli national na overstaying na sa Pilipinas at gumamit ng pekeng Philippine passport para makaalis ng bansa.

Sa ulat kay Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco, sinabi ng border control and intelligence unit (BCIU) ng BI na ang pasahero, isang 28-anyos na Israeli national ang naharang sa NAIA terminal 3 kung saan siya dapat sasakay sa Cebu Pacific flight papuntang Denpasar, Indonesia.

Nabatid sa BI-BCIU na matapos humarap ng nasabing dayuhan sa immigration officer sa BI counter para sa departure formalities, iniabot nito ang isang Philippine passport na lumabas na peke na napansin sa bio-page ng pasaporte.

“When asked by the immigration officer how and where he obtained the said passport, the passenger readily admitted that he procured the same from a fixer for a fee of P10,000,” ayon kay BI-BCIU overall deputy chief Joseph Cueto.

Nakumpirma na ang buong dokumento ng ipinakita ng dayuhan ay peke makaraang beripikahin sa forensic documents laboratory ng BI.

Dahil dito, nagbabala si Tansingco sa mga manlalakbay na huwag tumanggap ng mga alok mula sa mga fixer.

“The use of these spurious passports will no longer work as immigration officers are trained and adept in detecting fraudulent travel documents,” ani Tansingco.

Kasalukuyang nakakulong ang Israeli national sa pasilidad ng BI sa Bicutan, Taguig.
