Pumanaw na ang Irish actor na si Michael Gambon sa edad na 82.
“We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon. Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside,” mababasa sa statement – na inilabas ng publicist na si Clair Dobbs sa ngalan ng asawa at anak ng aktor.
Nakipagbuno si Gambon sa sakit na pneumonia.
“We ask that you respect our privacy at this painful time and thank you for your messages of support and love,” dagdag ng pamilya.
Ibinahagi din sa official Harry Potter social page ang kanilang pakikiramay sa pamilya ng aktor.
“We are incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of Sir Michael Gambon. He brought immeasurable joy to Harry Potter fans from all over the world with his humour, kindness and grace. We will forever hold his memory in our hearts,” mababasa sa caption.
Nakilala si Gambon sa kanyang role bilang Professor Albus Dumbledore sa anim na movie ng Harry Potter series. Nanalo siya ng apat na BAFTA awards, dalawang Screen Actors Guild awards at tatlong Olivier awards.
