MULING pinagtibay ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang relasyon nito sa Southeast Asian counterparts sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalitan ng mahusay na kasanayan.
Sa ginanap na ASEAN Customs Enforcement and Compliance Working Group (CECWG), pinangasiwaan ng BOC ang pakikipagpalitan ng kaalaman kasama ang customs administrations mula sa iba’t ibang bansa, partikular na sa loob ng ASEAN community.
“The discussions facilitated the exchange of best practices, with emphasis on initiatives to enhance enforcement and compliance measures for the protection of the ASEAN region,” ayon sa BOC sa isang pahayag.
Saklaw din ng nasabing pagpupulong ang iba pang topics na naglalayong humikayat ng collaborative initiatives habang papalapit na ang ASEAN Integration sa 2025.
“Upholding efficient customs enforcement systems and robust compliance frameworks are essential to ensure the smooth movement of goods, preventing illicit trade, protecting intellectual property rights, and facilitating legitimate business activities within the region,” saad ng BOC.
Ang tatlong araw (mula Oktubre 3 hanggang 5) na CECWG event kung saan host ang BOC ay isinagawa sa Davao City na nagsilbi bilang pivotal platform para sa Pilipinas upang palakasin ang relasyon sa ibang bansa.
