ASUNTO VS 2 PNP GENERALS (Kasong kriminal, administratibo sa pagkakasangkot sa illegal na droga)

Sasampahan ng kaso ng National Police Commission (Napolcom) laban sa dalawang Philippine National Police (PNP) generals at dalawang colonel na umano’y sangkot sa illegal na droga.

Sa isang news conference, sinabi ni Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos na naglabas ng resolusyon ang Napolcom upang ituloy ang pre-charge investigation laban sa mga hindi pinangalanang opisyal, kung saan hinimok nito si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na tanggapin ang courtesy resignation na isinumite ng mga police official.

Sakop ng resolusyon ang kasong administratibo na hahawakan ng Napolcom. Samantala, ang kasong kriminal ay nasa ilalim ng Deputy Ombudsman for Military at iba pang Law Enforcement Offices (MOLEO), dagdag ni Abalos.

“We are doing this so that the cases will continue even if their courtesy resignations are accepted,” saad niya.

Sinabi ni Abalos na tinanggap na rin ng Napolcom, na nasa ilalim ng DILG, ang ulat ng five-member panel na inatasan na linisin ang hanay ng mga opisyal na may kaugnayan sa ilegal na droga.

“The advisory group recommended the following: No. 1, non-acceptance of the resignation of 917 officers. No. 2, further investigation of 33 other officers. No. 3, acceptance of the courtesy resignation, and filing of administrative and/or criminal cases against four; specifically, two generals and two colonels,” ayon sa kanya.

Ayon kay Abalos, inirekomenda rin ng Napolcom sa pangulo na tanggapin ang courtesy resignation ng dalawang heneral at dalawang colonel na sangkot umano sa kalakaran ng illegal na droga.

Kinumpirma ni Marcos nitong weekend na tinanggap na niya ang resignasyon ng dalawang PNP generals, subalit sinabi ni balos na wala pang natatanggap ang DILG na transmittal letter mula sa Office of the President.

“We’ve heard in the media, parang tinanggap niya. What we will do, is we will wait for the actual letter,” dagdag niya.

Marcos confirmed over the weekend that he had accepted the resignation of two PNP generals, but Abalos said the DILG had yet to receive the transmittal letter from the Office of the President.

According to Abalos, Napolcom also recommended to the president to accept the courtesy resignation of the two generals and two colonels allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade.
