Balak bilhin ni retired Major League Baseball star Alex Rodriguez ang isang NBA team. Ayon sa ulat, kasama niya sa mag-a-acquire sa Wolves ang businessman na si Marc Lore.
Plano ring bilhin ng dalawa ang WNBA team na Minnesota Lynx. Dapat na aprubahan ng NBA board of governors ang agreement dito.
“Glen Taylor has reached an agreement with Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez regarding the sale and future ownership of the Timberwolves and Lynx,” ani ng T-Wolves sa isang statement.
“The transaction will close following league approval, beginning the transition of ownership and a new chapter of Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx basketball.”
Ang gugugulin nina Rodriguez upang mabili ang Wolves ay papalo sa $1.5 billion. Tig 50 percent sila ni Lore sa NBA club na pag-aari ni Taylor sapol noong 1995.
Si Rodriguez ay markado sa baseball nang bumida sa pagsungkit ng New York Yankees sa 2009 World Series title.
Isa rin siyang 14-time MLB All Star- infielder. Noong 2009, inamin niya na gumagamit siya ng steroids mula 2001-2003 habang naglalaro sa Texas Rangers.
Nakarelasyon din niya ang Latina pop star na si Jennifer Lopez.
