IPINAGDIWANG ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Navotas ang isang milestone nang manumpa ang mga bagong halal na opisyal sa bagong blessed na Navotas Polytechnic College, kasabay ng ika-18th Cityhood Anniversary ng lungsod.
Pinangasiwaan ni Executive Judge Ronald Q. Torrijos ang panunumpa nina Congressman Toby M. Tiangco, Mayor John Rey M. Tiangco, Vice Mayor Tito M. Sanchez, at mga miyembro Sangguniang Panlungsod
Ang mga Konsehal ng District 1 Councilors na nanumpa ay sina Reynaldo A. Monroy, Lance E. Santiago, Mylene R. Sanchez, Arvie John S. Vicencio, at Edgardo DC. Maño.
Para sa District 2, Clint Nicolas B. Geronimo, Emil Justin Angelo G. Gino-gino, Cesar Justin F. Santos, Analiza DC. Lupisan, at Rochelle C. Vicencio.
Sa kanyang mensahe, binalikan ni Mayor Tiangco ang mga nagawa ng lungsod sa ilalim ng kanilang pamumuno.
“Together, we have built five housing projects, over 80 pumping stations, fire stations, the Navotas City Hospital, 12 health centers, the new Navotas Polytechnic College, and the Navotas Convention Center, to name a few,” aniya.
“We also launched programs like the NavotaAs Scholarship, NavoBangka, Tulong Puhunan, and many others designed to address the needs and improve the quality of life of various sectors in our community,” dagdag niya.
“All these were made possible because of political stability and the support of Cong. Toby and our City Council.”
Binigyaang-diin din ni Mayor Tiangco ang mga planong itaas ang mga lokal na programa sa susunod na tatlong taon, partikular na ang pagtuon sa sa edukasyon.
“We will continue to improve the quality of education in Navotas because we believe this is the key to the holistic development of every Navoteño,” dagdag ng alkalde.
Sa kanyang part, sinalamin ni Congressman Tiangco ang pagbabago ng lungsod sa nakalipas na dalawang dekada.
“When I first became mayor, the biggest challenges were peace and order, uncollected garbage, rampant illegal gambling, and constant flooding. We had to make tough decisions and implement policies that were not always popular,” ani Cong. Tiangco.
“What made those reforms successful was the people’s trust and support,” aniya.
