QC HANDA NA SA MAS MALAKING PRIDE FESTIVAL SA HUNYO 24

Muling magsisilbi ang Quezon City bilang host ng Pride PH’s Pride Festival na may temang “Love, Laban: A Celebration of the Fight for Love in All Forms and Ways.”

Para patunayan ang pangako nito na gawing City of Inclusivity ang Quezon City, nagpahayag si Mayor Joy Belmonte ng full support nito sa Pride PH at sa Pride Festival nito na gaganapin sa Hunyo 24, 2023 sa Quezon City Memorial Circle.

“We are grateful that we have the local government of Quezon City as one of the biggest allies of the LGBTQIA+ community. This is the second year that the local government of Quezon City has welcomed us into their home. And we have been blessed to have the support of Mayor Joy, who has been a consistent genuine ally of the community since day one” saad ni Mela Habijan, Miss Trans Global 2020 at lead convener ng Pride PH.

Ang Pride PH, na isa sa broadest networks ng LGBTQIA+ individuals at organizations, ay ang organizer ng QC’s Pride Festival. Ang naturang one-day event na ipagdiriwang ng LGBTQIA+ community ay mayroong tatlong major activities: Pride Expo, Pride March, at Pride Night.

“More than a celebration, the Pride Festival is a call to end the discrimination, hate and prejudice among members of the LGBTQIA+. We are holding this activity not because this sector is seeking special treatment. Rather, what they long for is simply a halt to the undeserved ill treatment and denial of opportunities they continue to suffer from,” saad ni Mayor Belmonte.

Ngayong taon mayroong mahigit sa sampung Pride marches na magaganap sa loob ng Pride Month. Bukod sa QC Pride Festival sa Hunyo 24, ganapin din ang selebrasyon ng Pride Month sa parehong araw sa Makati, Baguio, Quirino, Cagayan de Oro at Cebu. Magkakaroon din ng Regional Pride Marches dsa iba’t ibang siyudad tulad ng Zamboanga, Romblon at General Santos City hanggang sa katapusan ng buwan. Maari ring matunghayan ang Pride PH Festival sa iba’t ibang online at streaming channels. Mapapanood din ang live streamed sa mga Facebook page ng Pride PH, Quezon City Government at sa pamamagitan ng digital platforms ng official media partners nito na ABS-CBN, iWantTFC at Myx.

“The pride marches are seen as safe spaces that provide a venue to push for equality and inclusivity. And while these festivities remain celebratory, Pride is still a protest and should remain so.  Not until the LGBTQIA+ community no longer needs to fight for their human rights, their right to love, and the freedom to be their true authentic selves,” dagdag ni Habijan.
