INATASAN ngayon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na magsagawa ng imbestigasyon sa nangyaring shootout sa pagitan ng mga operatiba ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at PNP sa Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City.
Sa naturang insidente apat ang namatay kasama ang dalawang pulis, isang agent at isang civilian informant ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency o PDEA.
Kasabay nito, iniutos ni Pangulong Duterte sa joint panel na binuo ng PNP at PDEA na itigil na ang kanilang ongoing investigation.
Inihayag ni Sec. Roque na layunin nitong magkaroon ng patas o impartial na imbestigasyon sa insidente.
“President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has directed the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to conduct a probe on the shootout in Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City. The President likewise ordered the joint panel formed by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to discontinue their ongoing investigation. This is to ensure impartiality on the Quezon City shootout incident,” ani Sec. Roque.
Una nang sinabi ng PDEA na may lehitimong operasyon ang kanilang mga ahente sa Commonwealth habang sinasabi ng mga pulis na may buy-bust operations ang QCPD-District Special Operations Unit sa lugar ngunit hindi nila batid na mga taga-PDEA pala ang kanilang naka-transaksyon.
