Walang basehan ang panawagan para magbitiw sa kanyang puwesto si Justice Secretary Crispin ‘Boying’ Remulla matapos maaresto ang kanyang anak dahil sa droga.
“I think the calls for him to resign have no basis. You call for somebody to resign if he’s not doing his job or they have misbehaved in that job. He has done quite the contrary,” saad ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. sa mga reporter kasabay ng 8th Annual Balik Scientist Convention.
Katunayan, sinabi ng Pangulo na maayos na nagtatrabaho si Remulla bilang kalihim ng DOJ.
“He has not done… He has done quite the contrary. He has taken the very proper position that he is recusing himself from any involvement in the case of his son. And I think that being the Secretary of Department of Justice he’s very aware that he must allow the processes of the judiciary to work properly and that no one in the executive should interfere,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Nasa Geneva, Switzerland si Remulla at ngayon ay inaasahang uuwi sa Pilipinas.
Pormal nang sinampahan ng kaso si anak ni Secretary Boying na si Juanito Jose Remulla III sa Las Piñas regional trial court sa possession of illegal drugs.
Kinumpirma naman ni Prosecutor Jennah Marie Dela Cruz na nakapaghain na sila ng kaso laban sa anak ng kalihim ngayon Biyernes, Oktubre 14, 2022.
“We filed for violation of Section 11 of [Republic Act 9165] that is possession of illegal drugs kasi yun yung, based on evidence na inevaluate, yun yung pinaka-appropriate na case na pwedeng i-file,” ayon kay Dela Cruz.
Nadakip si Remulla kamakailan sa isang drug operation at nakuha sa kanya ang P1.3 halaga ng hinihinalang kush, isang uri ng high grade marijuana.
Dahil sa laki ng halaga na nakuha sa suspek, ang kasong isinampa sa kanya ay walang piyansa.
