Nag-react si Senator Risa Hontiveros at iba pa nitong kasamahan sa senado sa naging desisyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na tumakbong Vice President sa 2022.
“E di wow. Every party has its own process of candidate nomination. But it seems some gatekeepers in PDP-Laban have turned Ka Nene’s original party into a “zombie” institution which is only performing rituals empty of substance and principle,” saad ni Hontiveros sa isang pahayag.
Dagdag pa niya na ang naturang desisyon ay mas malala pa sa version ng horror film na “Shake, Rattle and Roll”.
“President Duterte started his presidential run with a whole lot of drama and it looks like he will be leaving us the same way – trying to confuse us, and all the more in search of a true leader,” aniya.
Samantala, kinuwestiyon naman ni Senator Koko Pimentel, na siyang kumakatawan sa isang faction ng ngayong watak-watak na PDP-Laban, ang naturang hakbang dahil mas inuna pa raw na pinangalanan ang vice-presidential candidate bago ang presidential candidate.
“PDP LABAN has not reached that level yet of having chosen a VP candidate [because] we will most likely delegate to our presidential candidate the choice of his or her running mate VP,” wika ni Pimentel.
“Choosing the VP candidate first before naming your presidential candidate is an unusual circuitous convoluted process. Which I have never encountered before,” dagdag niya.
