CAPAS, TARLAC — The 790th Air Base Group (790th ABG) continues to strengthen its partnership with civilian agencies, organizations, and communities by providing assistance and logistical support to legitimate humanitarian, disaster response, health, and community activities.
The Group recently provided escort and transportation assistance to approximately 500 Aeta families from Barangay Maruglo during the Bukal ng Buhay Foundation Inc. Outreach Program, which provided food and grocery packs, school supplies, and feeding assistance to beneficiaries. In times of disaster, the 790th ABG likewise remains ready to respond. Its Disaster Response and Rescue Team conducted drainage-clearing operations in Barangay Sta. Juliana and personnel carried out sandbagging operations along the Apalong River inside Colonel Ernesto Ravina Air Base following damage to a flood control dike caused by the Southwest Monsoon. The Group also provided food and snack assistance to families temporarily evacuated to Sta. Juliana Elementary School. Beyond Capas, the
790th ABG extended relief assistance to around 500 flood-affected residents in San Fernando, Pampanga, distributing 50 sacks of rice in coordination with local disaster response authorities. The Group also provided manpower and logistical support to relief operations conducted with the Philippine Red Cross and the Philippine Chamber of
Commerce and Industry, Inc. The 790th ABG also participated in the CAREavan Community-Based Medical Mission, working alongside healthcare workers, volunteers, and partner agencies to bring medical, dental, optical, diagnostic, nutrition, and other health services closer to underserved communities.
These initiatives reflect the Group’s commitment to civil-military cooperation and the spirit of Bayanihan. While maintaining the necessary security policies and responsibilities of a military installation, the 790th ABG remains open to proper coordination and collaboration with civilian counterparts whose activities contribute to the welfare and safety of the community.
Through partnership, preparedness, and service, the 790th ABG continues to demonstrate that military and civilian institutions can work together effectively for a common purpose—”to serve and protect the Filipino people”.
