CLARK, Pampanga — Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs (BOC)–Port of Clark at Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) ang tinatayang ₱75.072 milyong halaga ng shabu na nakatago sa loob ng isang industrial water chiller na dumating mula Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico.
Ayon sa BOC, ang shipment na nakatakdang ipadala sa Cainta, Rizal ay dumating noong Agosto 26, 2025. Dahil sa natanggap na impormasyon mula sa PDEA, agad itong isinailalim sa X-ray scanning at K-9 inspection na kapwa nagpositibo, dahilan para isagawa ang full physical examination.
Nadiskubre ng mga awtoridad ang isang plastic cylinder na binalot ng lead shield at naglalaman ng puting kristal na substansiya. Kinumpirma ng laboratory test na ito ay Methamphetamine Hydrochloride o shabu, na kabilang sa mga ipinagbabawal na droga sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Naglabas ng Warrant of Seizure and Detention si District Collector Jairus S. Reyes laban sa shipment dahil sa paglabag sa mga probisyon ng Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) kaugnay ng R.A. 9165.
Noong Agosto 30, 2025, isinagawa ang airport interdiction operation ng BOC-Clark, PDEA at Clark International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Group (CRK-IADIG) na nagresulta sa pagkaka-aresto ng dalawang lalaki, edad 52 at 54, matapos nilang tangkaing i-claim ang naturang kargamento. Ang dalawa ay nasa kustodiya na ngayon ng PDEA Region III at kakasuhan sa ilalim ng R.A. 9165.
Pinuri ni Collector Reyes ang mabilis na aksyon ng mga frontline officer ng Port of Clark.
“The Port of Clark continues to be on high alert. Beyond seizures, our priority is to prevent these harmful substances from reaching our communities,” aniya.
“This operation sends a clear message that the Bureau of Customs will never let its guard down against illegal drugs. Our commitment to protect the Filipino people remains firm, and we will continue to work closely with our partner agencies to stop the entry of these dangerous substances at all costs,” dagdag pa ni Customs Commissioner Ariel F.
