Para sa dalawang magkasunod na taon, itinanghal ang Pilipinas bilang ‘leading dive destination’ sa buong mundo ng 2020 World Travel Award.
Pinangalanan din ng award-giving body ang Intramuros sa Manila bilang world’s top tourist attraction ngayon taon.
Tinalo ng Pilipinas ang Azores Islands; Bora Bora, French Polynesia; Cayman Islands; Fiji; Galapagos Islands; Great Barrier Reef, Australia; Maldives at Mexico.
Habang ang Intramuros ay tinalo ang 15 tourist site sa buong mundo, ilan dito ang Taj Mahal in India, the United States’ Grand Canyon National Park and the Great Wall of China.
“We are incredibly grateful for the recognitions given to the Philippines’ magnificent dive sites and the beautifully-restored heritage site of Intramuros at the 27th World Travel Awards,” pahayag ni Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.
“We will continue to promote sustainable, inclusive, and world-class tourism, especially now as we slowly reopen our attractions to more domestic tourists,” pagpatuloy nito. Matatandaang nakakuha rin ng mga pagkilala ang bansa sa Asia category ng 2020 World Travel Awards.
