P1.5-M hazardous chemicals nasabat ng BOC

NAHARANG ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) Cebu-Subport of Mactan ang isang unmanisfested shipment ng hazardous chemicals na may halagang P1.5M na sakay ng isang vessel mula sa South Korea.

Nagsagawa ang mga tauhan ng Customs ng physical inspection matapos makatanggap ng impormasyon mula sa Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) Subport of Mactan. Natagpuan ng Boarding Team ang aabot sa 8,485 litro ng mapanganib na kemikal na binubuo ng Hydrochloric Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, and Sodium Hypochlorite Solution, na hindi saklaw ng manifest ng vessel o store list.

Agad nag-isyu si District Collector Charlito Martin R. Mendoza ng Warrant of Seizure and Detention laban sa unmanifested cargoes matapos makitaan ng probable cause sa paglabag sa Sections 1113 (g), (f), and (l-5) of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.

Isasailalim ang mga nakompiska na kemikal sa forfeiture proceeding at idi-dispose bilang pagsunod sa environmental protocol at umiiral na customs rules and regulations.
