Nagbigay ng meals ang San Miguel Corporation (SMC) sa 274 stranded passengers na nagkampo sa Manila North Harbor.
Natengga ang mga pasahero o kabilang sa LSI dahil sa inter-island travel restrictions sa ilalim ng MECQ sa Metro Manila.
Ayon kay SMC president at chief operating officer (COO) Ramon S.Ang, sapol pa noong Lunes, namigay na sila ng pagkain. Kabilang na ang lunch at dinner. Ipinamamahagi ang pagkain via community feeding center at food bank.
Bukod sa pagkain, binibigyan din ng financial aid ang mga stranded passengers. Ang mga LSI ay naghihintay ng resumption of travel schedules. Karamihan sa kanila ay pabalik sa Iloilo, Bacolod, Dumaguete, Ozamis, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Butuan, Zamboanga, at Coron.
“It’s unfortunate that they can’t get home right away, especially since many of them are Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who can’t wait to see their families.”
‘But as we all have to abide by the restrictions of the MECQ for safety reasons, we felt we should just do what we can to help the LSIs,” wika ni SMC president at COO Ramon S. Ang.
