SASANAYIN ng San Miguel Corporation, sa pamamagitan ng kanilang packaging subsidiary na San Miguel Yamamura Packaging Corp. (SMYPC), ang mga indigent students ng Sisters of Mary School – Adlas, Inc. (Boystown) sa Cavite para sa technical jobs sa manufacturing sector.
Nag-donate ang kompanya ng manufacturing equipment sa paaralan at ni-renovate din ang kanilang mechanical workshop.
“Now more than ever we need to produce bright, talented young minds that are central to driving the manufacturing sector forward. Through this program, we hope to raise the interest of the next generation of Filipinos and equip them with skills in modern technologies to make them industry-ready and self-reliant,” ayon kay SMC President at Chief Operating Officer Ramon Ang.
Nag-donate din ang SMYPC at MESCO, Inc. ng dalawang computer numerical control o CNC machines.
Ang CNC machining ay isang manufacturing process kung saan ang pre-programmed computer ay nagmamando sa galaw ng factory tools at makinarya. Maari rin itong gamitin para kontrolin ang iba’t ibang cutting machine.
“Students need to have access to the equipment utilized in manufacturing today—to see, touch, and operate them. The CNC machine is an example of a vital piece of equipment currently used in the industry,” ani ni Ang.
“More than that, these students should have the opportunity to learn in a well-equipped facility in order to prepare them for their future careers. I hope our recent effort will do just that,” dagdag pa niya.
Bukod dito, mayroon na ring metal crafting facilty ang ni-renovate na workshop at may lugar para sa CNC machines.
Mahigit sa 500 estudyante sa ilalim ng Technical and Vocational Education and Training program ng pamahalaan ang maaring gumamit sa upgraded workshop.
