Gaya ng ibang cager, maglalaro rin si Kobe Paras sa Japan basketball league. Katunayan, lumagda siya ng pro-contract sa B. League Division I Team Niigata Albirex.
Para sa 23-anyos na former UP Fighting Maroon, labis ang pasasalamat niya sa Niigata. Lalo na sa head coach nitong si Fujitaka Hiraoka. Gayundin sa management ng team dahil ibinigay na oportunidad.
“I’m very excited. I’m so grateful for my team, Niigata Albirex, for taking a chance on me,” ani Paras.
“I also want to say thank you to the Niigata Albirex coaching staff and boosters for giving me a chance to play for such a great league.”
Bago magpalambat sa Niigata, unang nakipag-negosasyon si Paras sa Utsonomiya Brex. Ngunit, hindi umubra ang deal. Doon na sumingit ang Niigata.
“I can’t wait to meet my new teammates out there and hear the amazing fans cheer us on every game!,” ani ng anak ni PBA legend Benjie Paras.
