Nagsampa ng cyberlibel case ang dating information officer ng Davao City na si Jefry Tupas laban kay vice presidential candidate Walden Bello dahil diumano sa mga mapanirang sinabi sa kanya ng kandidato.

Makikita sa ilang larawan si Tupas habang inihahain ang kaso laban kay Bello na kilalang kritiko ng mga Duterte.

Ayon sa ulat ng Sunstar ay sinabi ni Tupas na lubos siyang naapektuhan matapos siyang akusahan ni Bello bilang ‘drug dealer’ kahit na wala naman itong katotohanan.

“Jefry Tupas called me up. He was emotionally distraught and emotionally bothered because he is receiving attacks. However, quite recently, there’s another attack and this time, coming from a vice presidential candidate Walden Bello. It was really below the belt. Nakakagalit, nakakalungkot yong ginawa ni Bello,” ayon sa abogado ni Tupas na si Atty. Caesar Europa.

“Ang masakit nito, na-invite lang siya sa party, drug dealer kana? Drug addict ka na? t was really unfair and illegal for him to be portrayed as a drug addict and called a drug dealer,” dagdag niya pa.

Matatandaan na nasangkot si Tupas sa isang raid na ginawa noon sa Davao de Oro kung saan ay hinayaan diumano siya ng mga otoridad na makaalis dahil sa nagpakilala itong staff ni vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte.

Dahil dito ay ginamit ni Bello ang nasabing sitwasyon upang batikusin si Duterte.

“Sara with a drug dealer? If Davao City is so ‘multi-awarded,’ why is it that… Mayor Duterte’s Press Information Officer Jefry Tupas was nabbed at a beach party where he and her friends were snorting P1.5 million worth of drugs on November 6, 2021? That she did not know she was sheltering a drug dealer is not credible,” ani Bello sa kanyang post.

Sa ngayon ay wala na sa posisyon si Tupas matapos siyang sisantehin ni Duterte matapos ang nasabing insidente.
