Inaprubahan ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) ang renaming ng ilang sports facilities sa mga sports heroes. Ito ay bilang pagbibigay pugay sa kanilang naging ambag sa sports at kanilang achievements. Na nakapagbigay ng karangalan sa bansa.
Isa pa, makikilala ng susunod na henerasyon ang mga sports heroes sa nakalipas na panahon.
“These athletes have given the honor to the country with their work in sports, we hope to keep their legacies alive for this and next generations.”
“We want to pique the interest of the people who will read about or visit the facility. Who is Teofilo Yldefonso? What did Felicisimo Ampon do that this venue is named to him?” ani PSC Chairman William Ramirez.
Ipapangalan kay Hidilyn Diaz ang weightlifting gym sa Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Ito ay magiging Hidilyn Diaz Weightlifting Gym na.
Inaprubahan din PSC Board ang renaming ng Rizal Memorial Tennis Court bilang Felicisimo Ampon Tennis Court, RMSC Swimming Pool bilang Teofilo Yldefonso Swimming Pool at Rizal Memorial Track Stadium bilang Simeon Toribio Track Stadium.
