CAMP CAPINPIN, RIZAL – Patuloy na dumarami ang bilang ng mga sumusukong rebelde at malawakang pagbawi ng suporta sa New People’s Army sa buong lalawigan ng Batangas mula Oktubre 7 hanggang 11, 2022.
Sa pamamagitan ng walang humpay na military operation at pagpapakalat ng mahahalagang impormasyon ng 59th Infantry “Protector” Battalion, tatlong NPA ang sumuko sa puwersa ng gobyerno sa munisipalidad ng Lian at Taysan.
Noong Oktubre 7, sumuko si alyas Bong, miyembro ng SILANG 9 at Red Fighter Platoon KANLURAN/SILANGAN sa ilalim ng Eduardo Dagli Commang Group mula sa Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee’s Sub-Regional Military Area 4C, sa Barangay Matabungkay sa Lian. Bitbit nito ang caliber 38 revolver at isang improvised explosive device.
Kasunod nito, sumuko rin noong Oktubre 11, ang dalawang rebeldeng NPA mula sa STRPC’s SRMA 4B sa puwersa ng gobyerno sa Barangay San Marcelino sa Taysan.
Samantala, binawi naman ng 21 Communist Terrorist Group supporters at 10 miyembro ng Samahan ng mga Magsasaka, isang CPP-NPA-NDF Affected Mass Organization, ang kanilang suporta sa komunista sa ginanap na seremonya sa Barangay Guinhawa sa Taysan noong Oktubre 10.
“Obviously, the local populace does not really want the CPP-NPA-NDF to thrive in Batangas. They do not want the terror, lies and deceit being propagated by the communist terrorists in their localities. The people want normalcy, peace and development not NPA. This is the reason why some CPP-NPA-NDF personalities become disgruntled and gave up their useless cause. With the whole of government approach of ending the local armed conflict, thus, here comes the influx of surrenderees” ayon kay 2ID Acting Commander Brig. Gen. Rommel K. Tello.
