Kinuha ng Boston Celtics si Damon Stoudamire bilang new assistant coach ng team. Dahil dito, umalis si Stoudamire sa Pacific University. Kung saan, naging head coach siya rito sa loob ng 5 years.
Si Stoudamire ay naging no.7 overall pick noong 1995 NBA Draft. Naging Rookie of the Year noong 1996 na naglaro sa Toronto Raptors. Noong late 90’s at early 200’s naglaro siya sa Portland TrailBlazers.
Inakay niya ang Blazers sa back-to-back Western Conference Finals noong 1999 at 2000. Sa kabuuan, gumugol ng 13 seasons sa NBA si Stoudamire sa kanyang career.
