Nagwakas na ang 5-taong pagiging head coach ng New Orleans Pelicans ni Alvin Gentry.
Ang pagkabaklas ni Gentry sa team ay inanunsiyo ni Pelicans Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations David Griffin.

“The City of New Orleans is richer because of his presence here. These types of moves are often about fit and timing, and we believe now is the right time to make this change and bring in a new voice.”
Naging coach ng Pelicans si Gentry noong Mayo 2015 kung saan naglata ng regular season win-loss record na 175-225.Inakay din nito ang Pelicans sa Western Conference semifinals noong 2018.
Ngayong season, lumakas ang team sa arrival ni rookie Zion Williamson. Ngunit, hindi nakalaro ng 44 games dahil sa right knee surgery.
Sa NBA restart naman, may 2-6 record ang Pelicans sa loob ng 8 laro.
