TITIKETAN na ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ang mga motorista na gagamit sa bicycle lane sa kahabaan ng EDSA sa susunod na linggo.
Ayon kay MMDA Chairman Romando Artes, marami sa mga motorista ang patuloy na lumalabag sa Safe Space Act para sa mga bisikeleta.
“Since the NCAP (No Contact Apprehension Policy) was suspended many became bold in violating traffic,” ani Artes.
“We are thinking of implementing the tickets by next week. As to when we will not announce,” saad niya.
Bagama’t, sinabi rin ni Artes na bukas ang ahensiya na pag-aralan na payagan ang mga motorsiklo na gamitin ang bicycle lane.
“Some 165,000 motorcycles are plying EDSA every day, compared to the 1,000 bicycles, so it is underutilized,” aniya.
“We are studying the shared use and we will have a stakeholders meeting on August 29 and then submit to the DoTr (Department of Transportation) the results,” dagdag pa nito.
