‘SPACE JAM: A NEW LEGACY’ TINALO ANG ‘BLACK WIDOW’

Isang bagong palabas na nilabas ng Warner Bros. ang “Space Jam: A New Legacy” ay nanguna sa North American box office ngayong weekend, nakakuha ito ng estimated $31.6 million sa best showing na family film simula nang tamaan ng pandemya ang industriya.

Ang live action/animated movie ay sequel sa halos 25 na taon matapos ang original “Space Jam” kasama si Michael Jordan. Sa bagong Space Jam, nag-team up sina NBA superstar LeBron James aka the King, kina Bugs Bunny at sa iba pang Looney Tunes karakters sa isang high-stakes basketball game laban ang rogue artificial-intelligence entity.

Sa kabila ng mga middling-to-terrible reviews sa palabas, kung saan tinawag pa ito ng New York Post na “abomination” naunahan ng Space Jam: A New Legacy ang last weekend’s leader, ang Disney superhero film “Black Widow.”

Sa pangatlong puwesto naman ang psychological thriller ng Sony, ang “Escape Room: Tournament of Champions,” kung saan sina
Taylor Russell and Logan Miller, (reprising their roles in 2019’s “Escape Room,”) ay haharap ng mga sunod-sunod ng mga deadly traps at puzzles na ginawa ng the evil Minos.

Pang-apat naman ay napunta sa Universal’s “F9: The Fast Saga,” habang ang pang-lima ay ang Universal’s animated “Boss Baby: Family Business.”

Ang “Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain” naman, isang Focus Features/CNN Films movie patungkol sa world-traveling chef ang naging best opening ng documentary ngayong taon, at $1.9 million.
