Base sa inisyal na impormasyon mula sa BuCor Public Information Office, alas-8:39 ng umaga nang magsimula ang riot sa pagitan ng magkakalabang grupo sa Maximum Security Compound.
Agad naman na kumilos ang BuCor, PNP – Special Action Force, PNP – SWAT at maging ang Bureau of Fire Protection.
Kinailangan din na ilikas ang mga kawani ng BuCor na nasa mga tanggapan sa loob ng Bilibid para hindi sila madamay.
Wala pang naibigay na ulat kung may mga nasaktan sa kaguluhan, pagtitiyak lang na kontrolado ni Dir. Gen. Gerald Bantag ang sitwasyon sa loob ng pambansang piitan. Nangyari ang riot eksaktong isang buwan
