Nakuha na ng Netflix ngayon ang serbisyo ni Filipino animator Ronnie Del Carmen. Ginagawa ngayon ng Pixar animator ang kanyang sariling animated feature.
Ang maganda, ito ay may concept ng Philippine lore at mythology. Iniulat ng Cartoon Brew na ang Cavite-born na si Del Carmen ay lumagda na ng contract sa Netflix.
Kung kaya, ilalatag nito ang kanyang original feature. Kumpiyansa siya na papatok ang Pinoy mythology concept animation sa Netflix.
Si Del Carmen ang nasa likod ng Golden Globe award-winning at Oscars- nominated co-director ng hit Pixar movie na “Inside Out”.
“I’m hopeful about seeing how all these stories will help fuel change and bring us all a little closer to understanding each other. That’s my next threshold. I’m where I need to be,” aniya.
Nagsimula sa filmmaking si Del Carmen bilang painter sa set ni Francis Ford Coppola na “Apocalypse Now”. Ang movie ay kinuhanan sa Pilipinas.
Nagtrabaho rin siya bilang storyboard artist, story supervisor, character designer at illustrator sa film productions of DreamWorks at Warner Bros.
Kabilang na rito ang “Freakazoid!”, “Batman: The Animated Series”, “Prince of Egypt”, “Road to El Dorado” at “Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas”.
Markado rin siya bilang nasa likod ng “Up”, “WALL-E”, and “Finding Nemo”, at iba pang animated films.
