MAYNILA – Hindi pa rin makapaniwala si Vice President Leni Robredo sa pagbuhos ng suporta sa kanya ng marami nating kababayan matapos niyang ideklara ang kanyang planong pagtakbong pangulo para sa 2022 elections.
“I really did not expect the overwhelming reaction,” sambit nito sa kanyang lingguhang programa sa radyo.
“I thought that, once I announced, only my longtime supporters would be happy. But we saw something completely different: So many signed up to be volunteers, so many donated money.”
It was like an affirmation that we made the right decision,” the Vice President said. “When I saw how the people reacted, I got emotional.”
“It’s really hard to penetrate social media where there is a lot of propaganda and fake news,” saad niya.
“So my request to my supporters is to not be content with shaking up those within their circles but to expand our ranks.”
Noong Huwebes, nang ideklara ni Robredo ang pagsabak sa 2022 presidential race, matapos ang ilang buwan ng pagninilay tungkol sa kanyang plano at sa muling pagtutuos nila ni dating Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Matapos ang pagdedeklara ni Robredo ng kanyang kandidatura sa pagkapangulo, biglang bumaha ng pink sa social media – ang kanyang bagong campaign color – kung saan nabuhayan ng loob ang mga supporter sa paparating na eleksyon.
