Wes Gatchalian sinisi si Sen. Drilon
SIM CARD REGISTRATION BILL VETO KAY DIGONG

Naniniwala ni Valenzuela 1st District Rep. Wes Gatchalian na isa si Senador Franklin Drilon sa may kasalanan kung bakit na-veto ang sim card registration bill.

Sa kanyang pahayag, sinabi ni Gatchalian na isa sa mga tagasuporta ng nasabing panukala na ang inilagay ni Drilon na probisyon sa sim card registration bill ang naging dahilan kung bakit ito ibinasura ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

Sa nasabing probisyon ay inaatasan ang mga sim card owners na i-rehistro ang kanilang numero sa social media upang maiwasan na diumano ang pagkalat ng mga trolls.

Ngunit ayon kay Gatchalian ay halos last minute na ito inilagay ay dapat muna itong pag-aralan.

“I agree with the decision of the President even if I am the principal author and a staunch advocate since the 16th congress,” ani Gatchalian.

“Unfortunately, the last-minute insertion of Sen. Drilon to include the registration of social media providers is totally not in line with the essence of this bill. There is nothing in the bill specifying clear guidelines and how to register in such a broad environment (Internet),”

“Though equally important, that provision should have been studied further and filed as a separate bill,” dagdag niya pa.

Naniniwala naman ang senador na dahil sa pag-veto ng bill ay mananatili parin ang mga text scams, fake booking at iba pang masamang gawain.

Wala pang pahayag si Drilon sa banat ni Gatchalian.

Matatandaan na ito din ang pahayag ng palasyo kaya nila ibinasura ang panukala.

“The President similarly found that certain aspects of state intrusion, or the regulation thereof, have not been duly defined, discussed, or threshed out in the enrolled bill, with regard to social media registration,” ayon sa Malacañang.
