
INUPAKAN ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon dahil sa pagtatanggol nito sa pamilya Lopez kasunod ng pagsasara ng higanteng network na ABS-CBN.
Sa kanyang ikalimang State of the Nation Address na isinagawa sa Batasang Pambansa, pinangalanan ni Duterte si Drilon na isa sa mga tumitira sa gobyerno habang abala ito sa paglaban sa COVID-19 pandemic.
“While government focuses its attention on the coronavirus, there are those who take advantage of the preoccupied government,” ani ni Duterte sa unang bahagi ng kanyang speech.
“One of them is Senator Frank Drilon. In an interview, he arrogantly mentioned among others that oligarchs need not be rich. Then he linked the anti-dynasty system with oligarchy, and the topic was my daughter and son… Obviously, he was defending the Lopezes, that they are not oligarchs,” dagdag pa niya.
Aniya isa siya sa mga “casualty” ng mga Lopez noong 2016 nang hindi ipalabas ang kanyang campaign advertisement.
“Media is a powerful tool in the hands of oligarchs like the Lopezes who use their media outlets in their battles with political figures,” ani ni Duterte.
