QC ISUSULONG ‘15-MINUTE CITY’ CONCEPT SA MGA BARANGAY

PINAG-AARALAN ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Quezon City ang 15-minute city strategy sa mga barangay.

Ang 15-minute city, na binuo ni Sorbonne University Professor Carlos Moreno, ay isang urban model kung saan lahat ng essential services tulad ng healthcare, job opportunities, parks at open spaces, at education ay accessible sa mga residente sa pamamagitan ng paglalakad o pagbibisikleta mula sa tahanan.

Decentralized ang tradisyunal na serbisyo at ibinababa sa mga komunidad upang palakasin ang lokal na ekonomiya, babawasan ang car emission, itataguyod ang urban biodiversity at inclusivity, at bibigyan ng access sa quality green spaces ang publiko.

“When we went to Paris for the Plastic Treaty Forum, we were amazed by their 15-minute city sites as all the basic services for the people are within their reach. We want to replicate this setup here in Quezon City to make urban development people-centered and to further improve the quality of life of every QCitizen,” ayon kay Mayor Joy Belmonte.

Upang mas masuri ang benepisyo ng konsepto sa mga residente, nagtalaga ng researchers ang LGU sa mga departamento tulad ng Office of the City Administrator (OCA), Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Department (CCESD), City Planning and Development Department (CPDD),City Architect Department (CAD), Parks Development and Administration Department (PDAD), Transport and Traffic Management Department (TTMD), at Barangay and Community Relations Department (BCRD).

Sinimulan na ng city government ang barangay mapping sa pamamagitan ng centralized Geographic Information System, upang malaman ang basic services na pangunahing kailangan ng isang komunidad.
