POC; “DAPAT MAY VACCINE ANG MGA ATLETANG SASABAK SA SEA GAMES”

Sinabi ni Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham Tolentino na tablado ang mga atletang hindi magpapabakuna.

Bunsod ito ng anunsiyo ng organizers ng 31st Vietnam SEA Games ang isang mahigpit na polisiya. Ito ay ang ‘no vaccine, no participation policy’.

Ang nasabing polisiya ay sinabi ng Vietnam SEA Games Organizing Committee sa idinaos na online SEA Games Federation meeting.

Ayon sa kanila, tiyak ang pagdaraos ng SEA Games sa November 21- December 2. Gayunman, mahipit na ipatutupad ang vaccine policy sa mga lalahok na atleta.

Kaya naman, lumiham ang POC sa Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF). Na isama sa prayoridad ang mga SEA Games-bound delegates partikular ang mga atleta at coaches na mabakunahan.

“Most of the athletes from our Southeast Asian counterparts are already vaccinated and we’re the only country that is left behind,” ani Tolentino

“But we already wrote the IATF to prioritize the SEA Games-bound delegates. We’re ready to take any vaccine [brand],”dagdag nito.

Bukod dito, Inabisuhan na rin nila ang mga national sports association (NSA). Kung saan ay ipinaalam sa ahensiya ang mga atletang isasama sa vaccine.

“Before we fly to Vietnam, everyone should be vaccinated. Or better yet, before the NSAs start training their athletes face-to-face,” wika pa ng POC chief.
