HINDI nakasagwan ang Philippine Army Dragonboat team bilang Philippine Dragon Boat (PDBF) representative sa pamumuno ni Col.Harold Cabunoc sa IDBF- sanctioned Dragon Boat International Championship sa Thailand.
Ang koponan ay nabuking na walang basbas mula Philippine Olympic Committee(POC) at wala ring endorsement mula Philippine Sports Commission(PSC).
Ayon sa source, labing-dalawang taon nang hindi miyembro at di na kinikilala ang PDBF ng POC.
Katunayan ay ang Philippine Canoe Kayak & Dragonboat Federation (PCKDF) ang tanging National Sports Association paddling sports sa Pilipinas tulad ng canoe, kayak, dragon boat, white water rafting, stand up paddling at iba pang diciplines.
Ang PCKDF ay ang regular member ng POC recognized association ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
“Under Republic Act 6847 section 13, Philippine Sports Commission recognizes National Sports Associations,Organized for their respective sports in the Philippines and/or affiliated with their respective International Federations(IF) which are recognized by the International Olympic Committee(IOC).”
Kung kaya ang POC ay kinikilala ang PCKDF bilang regular member na may sole authority upang ma- promote at ma-develop ang sports at binuo ito upang ma-identify at ma-train ang national athletes at coaches gayundin sa technical officials.
Hindi na rin pinayagan ni Col. Ruben P. Quinolbay (INF) PA (GSC) Commanding Officer ng GHQ ang travel order ng lalaro sanang military paddlers na kinuhang miyembro ng PDBF sa pamumuno ni Col. Cabunoc at sa timon ni Marcia Cristobal, na sasagwan sana sa Thailand international dragonboat competition.
