Nakamit ng Navotas ang pangalawang pinakamababang ranking sa daily attack rate ng Coronavirus Disease 2019 sa mga local government unit sa Metro Manila.
Ayon sa OCTA Research group, ang Navotas ay dumausdos sa pangalawang puwesto mula sa 14th place na may attack rate ng 4.9 percent bawat 1,000 populasyon.
Inihambing sa pag-aaral ang datos na nakalap mula Setyembre 20 hanggang Oktubre 3 at Setyembre 27 hanggang Oktubre 10. Ang isang mas mataas na attack rate ay nangangahulugang maraming mga tao ang nahahawa sa virus.
“This serves as a validation of all our efforts to keep our constituents safe from COVID-19. However, we need to stay vigilant and careful. We cannot let our guard down because our cases could go up any time,” ani Mayor Toby Tiangco said.
Inanunsyo kamakailan ni Tiangco na tuloy ang pagpapatupad sa lungsod ng 24-hour curfew para sa mga menor-de-edad sa kabila ng pasya ng COVID task force na payagan ng lumabas ang mga taong edad 15 hanggang 65.
“We will also continue our strict implementation of safety protocols. I have instructed our police, Task Force Disiplina, and barangays to ensure that our constituents, especially children, stay safe in their homes,” aniya.
Sa report mula sa Navotas City Police, mula noong August 19, umabot na sa 15,297 mga residente ang naaresto dahil sa paglabag sa iba’t-ibang ordinansa. 6,159 dito ang lumabag sa curfew.
“Let us follow and practice our safety measures so we could protect and keep each other safe from the deadly disease,” dagdag ni Tiangco.
