NATIONAL ID MAGANDANG PAMALIT SA SENIOR CITIZEN ID AT BOOKLET – SOLON

HINIMOK ng chairman ng House of Representatives on senior citizens ang Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) na i-configure ang Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) identification cards upang magsilbi bilang IDs para sa mga senior citizens at person with disabilities (PWDs).

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Senior Citizens partylist Rep. Rodolfo Ordanes na maaring tugunan ng ahensiya at iba pang tagapagpatupad ng Philippine National ID System ang panawagan ng mga senior at PWD na magkaroon ng secure at verifiable ID, database at QR codes para sa kanilang hanay.

Ito ay upang mas mapadali ang pagtukoy sa kanila gamit ang National ID at hindi na kakailanganin pang magpresenta ng hiwalay na senior citizen o persons with disabilities (PWD) ID at booklet sa kanilang mga transaksyon.

Para kay Ordanes mas episyente ito kaysa sa pagkakaroon ng hiwalay pang special ID para lang makuha nila ang pribilehiyong nakasaad sa batas gaya ng discount.

“With the PhilSys ID system, business establishments, including those online and with online point-of-sale (POS) transaction portals, and third-party bookings, need only scan the ID QR codes or ask for the PSN ID numbers to check the identity of people presenting the PhilSys ID for claiming the discounts. The PhilSys ID is all we need, but it has to be adjusted. Using the PhilSys ID will make the purchase booklets of seniors and PWDs unnecessary and obsolete,” giit ng mambabatas.

Mungkahi ng mambabatas na isama ng PSA sa kanilang 2025 proposed budget ang kakailanganing pondo para maisaayos at mai-adjust ang Philsys ID para sa mga senior, PWD, at iba mga vulnerable sector.
