ITINANGGI ni First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos na sangkot sa smuggling at hoarding ng sibuyas ang kapatid na si Martin at si China-Philippines United president Michael Ma.
Ikinalungkot niya nang akusahan ni dating special envoy to China na si Mon Tulfo na kinokontrol nina Martin at Ma ang supply ng sibuyas para tumaas ang presyo nito, saad ni Araneta-Marcos sa broadcaster na si Anthony Taberna.
Ibununyag din ni Tulfo na may hawak na opisina si Ma sa parehong floor kung saan naroroon ang Marcos-Araneta’s law firm, M & Associates.
“Siyempre nagalit ako. Sabi ko, Bong, do you really believe that? Kasi my brother (Martin Araneta) and Michael, they are so rich. I mean, they basically bankrolled our election. If they are doing that there, why will they need the money, ‘di ba?” tanong niya.
“And, our CSR na nga, every quarter, we give 1 million dollars of onions, eggplants, sardinas, to the poor, ‘di ba. We give it to the poor. That’s why, why will you smuggle that? I mean, if you smuggle it ‘di ba the price will go down, not up? Eh tumataas yung presyo,” dagdag pa niya.
