HIGIT sa 1,400 atleta ang magtitipun- tipon sa Aquatics Center ng New Clark City para sa 11th Asian Age Group Swimming Championship na nakatakda sa Disyembre 3 hanggang 14.
Ito ang inanunsiyo nina Philippine Olympic Committee( POC) President Abraham ‘Bambol Tolentino at Bases Conversion Bevelopment Authority Service Group sa pamumuno ni Arrey Perez sa paglulunsad ng opisyal na logo ng kaganapan na idinaos sa CHARÌTO’S Tagaytay City kamakalawa.
Bukod sa kampeonato para sa swimmers na may edad 11-18 ,ang kaganapang lalahukan ng 46 na bansa sa kontinente ay magdaraos din ng Asian Swimming Federation Congress sa Clark.
Ang ASF na may basbas sa POC at BCDA sa pag-host ng kampeonato na orihinal na nakatakda noong 2022 pero naipagpaliban dahil sa pandemic.
“We are handling the competition as a caretaker- as long as there’s no legitimate swimming body recognized by the ASF and World Aquatics,” wika ni Tolentino.” The POC and the BCDA are together in this meet.”
Ang World Aquatics – ordered at POC supervised elections para sa bagong miyembro ng Philippine Swimming Inc.ay ginanap kahapon kung saan ay nahalal na pangulo si Michael Vargas ay secretary general si Batangas Rep.Eric Buhain.
“The Aquatics Center is in harness for the Championship- from the competition aspect to the accomodation and other organizational needs of the delegates,” pahayag naman ni Perez at ipinagmalaki ang kahandaan ng world class venue sa Capas na properly maintained. Dumalo rin sa naturang launching ng kaganapang qualifiers para sa Paris Olympics 2024 sina Organizing Committee head Jojit Alcazar at POC secretary- general for international affairs Bones Floro.
