Kinatawan ng UN Food and Agriculture Organization, Bumisita kay Vice President Sara Duterte

Idinulog ng kinatawan ng United Nations -Food and Agriculture Organization (UN FAO) Dr. Lionel Dabbadie, isang eksperto sa aquaculture, kay Bise Presidente at DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte ang proyektong  “forests for sustainable future”

Si Dr. Dabbadie ay nagbigay-pugay sa Bise Presidente ilang buwan matapos manombrahan bilang kinatawan ng UN FAO sa bansa.

Tinawag na “Forests for a Sustainable Future: Educating Children,” ang proyekto ng UnN -FAO, ayon kay Bise Presidente Duterte ay isang pagkakataon upang magkatulungan ang Department of Education, ang Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)at ang FAO sa pagpapalago ng mga gubat.

“Forests for a Sustainable Future: Educating Children,” would create opportunities for the Department of Education and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to work with the FAO,” ayon sa Bise Presidente.

Sa ilalim ng proyekto ay maagang matuturuan at mabubuksan ang kamalayan ng mga batang mag-aaral hinggil sa kahalagahan ng kagubatan sa tuluy-tuloy na food supply.

Nabatid kay VP Duterte na maraming bakanteng espasyo ang DepEd na maaaring gamitin sa agricultural activities gaya ng anim na ektaryang lupain sa Leyte na pag-aari ng ahensiya ngunit hindi nagagamit.

“I recently visited one in Leyte and they have six hectares but their demo was just one to three plots of vegetables because of budget. Many parts of open spaces are idle land,” ayon sa Bise Presidente.

Sa pamamagitan aniya ng tamang kasanayan at strategic education modules ay magkakaroon ng sapat na kaalaman ang mga batang mag-aaral upang matugunan ang kasalukuyang produksiyon ng pagkain, distribusyon at suliranin sa nutrisyon. “Through interactive learning approaches and the development of strategic education modules, the project will equip younger generations with the necessary skills and knowledge to address current food production, distribution, and nutrition challenges,” dagdag ng Pangalawang Pangulo.
